For our client, an exciting international company focussing on location technology, we are currently hiring a Managing Editor (f/m).

Your Role:
you will oversee our company’s daily publishing operations. You will be reporting to the Head of Digital Content and supervise writers, editors and other external contributors. A managing editor combines the innovativeness of a writer with the practical focus of an operations manager. You should also be able to suggest ideas for stories and innovative content and see them through to publication. We expect excellent organizational skills as well as a unique problem-solving ability.

Your Tasks:
  • Plan and manage all daily operations
  • Collaborate with the Head of Digital Content to determine relevant content and topics
  • Assist in evaluating finalized copy for factual correctness, compliance with policies, style and tone
  • Coordinate editorial publications and meetings
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders across functions and responsibilities who provide thought leadership content.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to design, develop and implement digital content
  • Ensure that the content is prepared in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements
  • Monitor and report on digital traffic and engagement metrics
  • Liaise with Brand and Marketing Operations teams to optimize customer experience and ensure brand consistency
  • Plan and approve assignments for writers and editors
  • Control schedules and enforce deadlines (for writers, photographers, designers etc.)
  • Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary
  • Drive innovative content idea generation and planning
  • Report and present on content performance to stakeholders

Your Skills:
  • Proven experience as managing editor or relevant role
  • Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing
  • Proficiency in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Understanding of social media best practices
  • Working knowledge of online content management (CMS) platforms like Drupal
  • Experience utilizing a project management software, like Workfront
  • Basic understanding of SEO and Google Analytics
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • You should have experience working within matrix organisations
  • Reliability and efficiency
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluent English (written and spoken), German is a plus
