Date: 01 July 2022 A) 2 Hiwi positions (~ 8-10 hours / week) for assisting in data collection, recruitment, project management tasks etc (behavioral measurements, 7T MRI, MEG). B) Master thesis opportunities A) Hiwis We would like to hire 2 research assistants (Hiwis) as soon as possible, preferably with background in cognitive neuroscience, psychology, or computational neuroscience etc. The Hiwi will be working for the IKND (Institute of Cognitive Neurology and Dementia Research, Leipziger Strasse 44) in the SFB 1436 B02 project focused on cognitive training, memory – mnemonic discrimination and neuroimaging (7T MRI, MEG)

The workload will be on:
  • Assisting on setting up a study - Data collection:
o neuropsychological tests (behavioral measures), cognitive training session, 7T MRI including fMRI and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), MEG
  • Recruitment - Project management tasks - Literature review on human memory, cognitive training, vision, neuroimaging (secondary) - If the candidate has programming knowledge: help in basic analyses and programming tasks

(secondary task optional, but a plus) Populations to work with:
  • Healthy older adults (60-79 years) - Healthy young adults (18-34 years)
Skills required: -Fluent knowledge of German is required. -Fluent knowledge of English is required. -Good communication, ability to work in a team and interact with older / young adults - reliability & competency in managing administrative and recruitment tasks independently - flexibility Interest or experience in cognitive neuroscience (e.g. human memory) and/or neuroimaging is a plus. Working hours: ~ 8-10 hours per week. May be adjustable each week depending on the load. Desirable if a student is flexible to have more work hours. Minimum duration: 9 months. It can be renewed based on demands and availability. Our goal is to recruit students that are happy in working in such a study and can stay until the end of our data collection phase. Opportunities for thesis or internships (master thesis, bachelor thesis). We can also discuss those in the interview if you are interested (but it is not a prerequisite).
