I have a defence client currently looking for a FRACAS Engineer for a long term project working on an armoured vehicle.
 
Reporting to the RAM Engineering Manager, the FRACAS Lead will be the lead user for the program and provides the key integration function to record and analyse usage and failure events. This role includes the traditional elements of in-service failures and problems and also includes management of usage and success data.

 
FRACAS collects objective evidence as part of the customer Acceptance V&V program, and subjective evidence on developmental work.
 
Working closely with the reliability systems architect, the FRACAS Lead will be responsible for the scoring allocation of failures, assignment to system elements, management of usage data, and the initial analysis to update failure rate and reliability models.

 

Core tasks:
  • Coordinate Incident Scoring Committee for internal events
  • Prepare submissions for customer Incident Scoring Committee
  • Management of the FRACAS procedures and data collection
  • Liaison with internal engineering and support teams
  • Coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for corrective action
  • Become a FRACAS expert user and be a mentor to other users across the program
  • Desktop investigation and problem solving
 

Candidates should have demonstrated the following experience:
  • have an engineering, test or industrial qualification with minimum 5 years practical experience
  • thrive in small team environments
  • high performance with minimal supervision and direction
  • experience with computer modelling tools
  • military equipment design, operation or performance
  • willingness to learn and show initiative
  • Candidates are not expected to have previous experience in test management or MADe. Training on technical elements of FRACAS and reliability will be provided.
