Metals Buyer
A leading automotive supplier is seeking an experienced metals buyer, based in Frankfurt, Germany. The company is going through rapid growth within their procurement department and are looking for new professionals to build their team. The company has a global presence and has a huge emphasis on investing in their employees and offering a competitive salary.
The role:
Execute technical and administration buys independently and provide support to senior buyers with technical and strategic purchasing
Perform market and supply based analysis to manage costs
Support the global category management team and cross functional teams in developing strategies and sourcing to execute tender activities
Execute and oversee the ordering of materials and supplies from suppliers
Review purchasing decisions and purchase orders
Responsible for reviews and processes of incoming acquisitions, placing tool order and quotations
Coordinating with suppliers to resolve issues, provide support and provide cost savings
Perform routine compliance monitoring
Negotiate with suppliers to build and maintain excellent working relationships
Desired skills/Experience
4+ years’ experience in automotive procurement
Must have experience in purchasing metals
Proven negotiation skills
Technical background to ensure effective communication with the engineering team
Experience managing supplier relationship
Fluent English – German is advantageous
Bachelor’s degree – Masters preferred
