The Schlitzer Lab is looking for a highly motivated postdoc investigating mononuclear phagocytes' development and functional specialization during acute and chronic inflammation in the murine epididymis using state-of-the-art single-cell technologies. Starting at the earliest date possible for 3 years initially, this position will be integrated into the newly established DFG-funded research Unit INFINITE on epididymal Immunology, the Cluster of Excellence Immunosensation2, and the PRECISE platform of the University of Bonn, and the German Center for Neurodegenerative, diseases.

The Schlitzer Lab at the Life and Medical Sciences Institute (
) integrates spatial single-cell OMICS, high-dimensional imaging, and flow cytometry to unravel novel mechanisms and regulatory circuits during the functional specialization and development of mononuclear phagocytes.

Your profile:

  • PhD degree in biomedical sciences, biology, bioinformatics, or a similar subject
  • Strong background in immunology
  • Strong background in Imaging or Spatial transcriptomics technologies
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry
  • Knowledge of the programming language R or Phyton
  • excellent command of the English language
  • motivated, flexible, team oriented and interested in continued professional development.
