Amazon is looking for a passionate candidate with the proven ability to build and drive new products and services for its Print and E-Books product category. The successful candidate will aggressively expand the business by developing multi-year strategies and delighting customers with unprecedented customer experience focussing on Children Books, Education Books and Foreign language Books. The candidate will drive business development, leveraging his internal network of stakeholders as well as monitoring / reacting to industry trends.

A successful candidate will have experience managing complex business and technical challenges, and has the ability to influence and successfully drive initiatives forward. You have a strong bias towards data driven decision making, and an innate ability to understand how metrics relate to business problems and to each other. You are a product leader who has the ability to communicate priorities and work effectively with stakeholders, including teams across retail, marketplace, tech development, marketing and finance. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that is higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving challenging problems. You will tackle novel, challenging situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple teams at Amazon in different locations. The ideal candidate is a high-energy and self-driven leader who can manage innovation and execution. Qualified candidates have very strong organizational and project manager skills, excellent communication and analytical skills, and a strong ability to earn trust of others.

Your responsibilities:
  • Provide transparency and analyses of relevant customer cohorts in Books (p+e) business, with focus on Children, Education and Foreign language product subcategories
  • Ideate on business mechanics to better serve relevant customer cohorts identified; align on existing vs. new opportunities and benchmark opportunities with US and other EU teams
  • Conceive, execute and report against programs to drive New to Store customers (including Prime members)
  • Deep dive into relevant insights to derive the overall strategy, targets and specific actions to increase the engagement of Books customers (relevancy, frequency)
  • Design, implement, and support analysis and ad hoc access to large datasets
  • Evaluate consumer/ shopper insights studies and derive action
  • Identify technical development areas, address issues and coordinate their implementation in projects with international tech-teams
  • Manage stakeholders across the company to drive shared objectives
  • Share findings, act as role model for your area of responsibility and facilitate knowledge sharing across business teams
  • Support in general vendor, category and marketing related topics and act as point of contact for your business teams
  • Challenge and improve standard operating procedures for various operational processes.

GRUNDQUALIFIKATIONEN

  • University degree required, ideally with technical or business background
  • Multiple years of experience gained e-commerce, consulting or analytically focused role
  • Affinity for numbers combined with creative thinking and innovation; draft and drive problem-solving / new customer mechanics that will have significant impact on business goals
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and happy to deal with large sets of data to identify trends and issues
  • Basic SQL skills

  • Experienced at leading multi-layer teams, both in direct and matrix structures
  • Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to implement at speed
  • Great communicator with very good German and English skills
