GBP900 - GBP1000 per day + Option to work remotely for 2 days

Mechanical Project Engineer / Bremerhaven (part remote) / 18-month contract / Freelance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to work on a large power plant. You will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for leading and managing a team of mechanical technicians to ensure the plant is maintained to the highest standard to ensure maximum plant availability. Your other responsibilities will include creating specifications, bid comparison, site order handling, site inspections, site installation and site commissioning.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills and experience:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience working with valves, turbines, gearboxes, conveyors, heat exchangers & piping.
• Ideally, solid knowledge of pressure systems safety regulations (PSSR), rotating plant and boilers, etc. and associated legislation (LOLER, PUWER, etc.).
• Knowledge of mechanical process plant maintenance gained in a heavy process industry, ideally power generation. Other industries such as chemical, refining and steel will also be considered.
• Fluency in English essential
• German is a bonus

This is a freelance position, offering an 18-month contract for €900-1000/day based on experience. There is a possibility to work from home for 2 days a week.
