PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP New Ventures & Technology is an innovative area within SAP, combining software engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Across various focus clusters and by building on strong teams, we pioneer game-changing solutions in close collaboration with startups, customers & partners in industry and research as well as with other SAP units. The SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation (RPA) unit consists of a dynamic, fast-growing and innovative young team in three locations. The goal with our product is to automate business processes that are by nature tedious and manual. SAP Intelligent RPA as an automation suite provides technology to design, orchestrate, run and monitor software robots. The users of our software are at the center of our development processes.

As a Working Student (f/m/d) you will assist the researchers in our Walldorf team by converting research findings into tangible software prototypes. In this highly agile team, you have the chance to work on a brand-new product and be involved in the process that spans from having a research idea to developing a production-grade feature for the RPA solution.

To fuel and to further build up our momentum, we are constantly looking for qualified and committed students who want to be involved in state-of-the-art business software development projects and are eager to experience the abundant opportunities SAP has to offer.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We are looking for a motivated and self-driven student (f/m/d) to assist us on the following tasks:
Work together with our PhD students to push the frontiers of what is possible in the combination of RPA and Artificial Intelligence
Develop web applications that showcase machine learning prototypes

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required

Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences with preferred fields of study: computer science, business informatics, mathematics, physics

Programming skills in Python
Ability to quickly study & grasp in-depth new concepts and build prototypes

Preferred (any of these is a plus)

Practical experience in frontend and/or backend software development
Practical experience with Deep Learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch)
Knowledge in Computer Vision
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please remember to describe your skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
