Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (Leibniz-Rechenzentrum, LRZ) of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities is the IT Service Provider for all Munich universities as well as a growing number of research organisations throughout Bavaria. We are currently looking for a

PR Manager (f/m/d) for Online Communications and Research Projects


Role and Responsibilities:
Part of your job will be to work on the Communications team of a series of third party funded projects (DEEPprojects - one of the major EU-funded projects in the area of supercomputing. You will engage with a project team of over 70 scientists from all over Europe. Your portfolio of responsibilities includes:

Identifying relevant topics and results produced from the research projects and turning them into engaging and relevant content for respective target groups and tailored for various communication channels-website, social media, e-newsletters, flyers, brochures, etc.

  • Supporting the coordination and execution of trade fairs and press events
  • Liaising with key journalists and extending media contacts relevant to the projects
  • Tracking the results and success of PR activities and presenting them to internal and external decision-makers
You will also support the PR team at LRZ with respect to their Online Communications activities. This includes:
  • Supporting the LRZ social media team including content creation, community management and reporting – mainly for Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Co-leading the website-relaunch efforts.
  • For this position, we require willingness to do business trips.

Qualifications:
  • You have a background in Tech PR and/or science communication.
  • You know how to convey complex facts in a media-friendly, informative and interesting way.
  • You tailor content to various channels (flyers, brochures, websites, Social Media).
  • You have experience with content management systems (ideally TYPO-3).
  • You balance attention to detail with pragmatism well.
  • You work in a structured, goal-oriented and independent manner.
  • You have outstanding written and spoken German and English skills.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject and two to three years of experience in a communications job.

Salary and benefits are compensated according to the collective employment agreement of the German Federal States (Tarifvertrag der Länder, TV-L).
