A global financial services leader is looking for a German-speaking Principal Data Scientist to join them in Cologne as they undergo a huge transformation! Moving away from the old analog into a digital, data-first insurance world, they are looking for talented and passionate data science professionals to join their team.

At the heart of this transformation is a data innovation lab, bringing together a diverse range of initiatives that you'll have the opportunity to be part of! You'll be joining a fantastic team of data professionals, working on a variety of projects from risk modelling to pricing, process optimisation and fraud detection.

Your role:

• Acting subject matter expert in modern analytical methods, helping to shape the transformation
• Actively participating in cross-functional teams to implement ongoing data initiatives
• Closely collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to scale data-based value creation

About you:

• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Degree in an analytical/quantitative subject area (preferably Masters or PhD level)
• Several years' experience as a data scientist, data analyst or software developer
• Advanced programming skills in common analytics tools and frameworks
• Passion for and experience in the implementation of data science methods, AI and software development
• Thorough knowledge of big data/cloud infrastructures and DWH/BI architectures
• Critical and inquisitive thinker, with exceptional problem-solving skills
