The department »Information Technology for Command & Control« (ITF) develops and tests architectures and interoperability solutions for complex information systems. In order to do so, we cooperate closely with the users. Our research topics include System-of-Systems Engineering, Vehicle Networking, Smart City Architectures, Fog/Edge Computing, and Internet-of-Things (IoT).

What you will do

  • Development of interoperability concepts for heterogeneous environments (IoT, Smart City, Automotive)
  • Specification of semantic interoperability solutions for sensor integration
  • Design and implementation of demonstrators and reference implementations
  • Testing and verification of complex systems-of-systems
  • Scientific contributions to international communities

What you bring to the table

We are looking for research associates who
  • want to familiarize themselves with pioneering techniques and solutions
  • have completed academic studies in computer science, mathematics, or other subjects with an emphasis on technical skills
  • have programming knowledge, preferably in Java or C++
  • have experience with at least one in the following domains
  • Data modelling with the Unified Modelling Language
  • IoT and Smart City architectures and best practices
  • Middleware solutions such as DDS and MQTT
  • Automotive safety or related standards, e.g. ISO 26262 or IEC 61508
  • have interest in proof-of-concept development

The weekly working time is 39 hours.
