Associate Marga and Walter Boll Professorship (W2) in Experimental Cardio-Oncology

YOUR TASKS

The professorship of Experimental Cardio-Oncology is intended to establish the emerging research field Cardio-Oncology at the Cologne campus. Primary focus is to investigate the molecular basis underlying the reciprocal relationship of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The candidate will develop an independent, cutting-edge, interdisciplinary basic research program, which will focus either on immunological, metabolic and/or inflammatory pathways. By this work, the successful candidate will lay the foundation of a novel multi-institutional translational research focus at the medical research campus Cologne.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for an excellent scientist in the field of molecular or cellular (vascular) pathobiology, immunology and/or experimental oncology. A strong background in rodent animal models is required. Studies in metabolism, inflammation, innate and adaptive immunology are encouraged. Applicants should have an MD and/or PhD degree. Eligible candidates have established a strong track record in the postdoctoral phase, and demonstrate educational and personal aptitude as well as substantial international experience. The Faculty of Medicine seeks to appoint a candidate with an excellent track record in research and experience in teaching. Social skills, the capacity to work in multidisciplinary teams and successful applications for third-party research funds are prerequisites.
