Senior Sales Specialist (m/f/d) Genomic Services - DACH region

How You'll Make an Impact

The Senior Sales Specialist (m/f/d) is the primary driver of revenue for a portfolio of the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Gene Synthesis (GS) products and services. Our NGS portfolio includes a complete offering of solutions, including both standard and custom services for extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and bioinformatics. The GS portfolio includes solutions for lentiviral and AAV production, genome editing including CRISPR, and targeted gene and cell therapies.

The ideal candidate (m/f/d) should be a dynamic and results-driven professional possessing technical expertise in the fields of NGS and Synthetic Biology. This individual will be accountable for driving the expansion of our products and services portfolio. As the Senior Sales Specialist (m/f/d), this role involves serving as the primary subject matter expert, fostering a comprehensive understanding of our multiomics and synthesis portfolio. This entails ongoing research and analysis of customer requirements to effectively tailor our solutions to meet their specific needs and address pain points.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to develop and execute robust sales strategies aimed at amplifying market presence, accelerating product/service adoption, surpassing revenue targets, and achieving and exceeding annual sales goals within the Multiomics and Synthesis portfolio through successful implementation of consultative selling and account management strategies.
  • Prospect and Close Large-Scale Opportunities: Identify, pursue, and close high-value opportunities within the market.
  • Conduct targeted prospecting efforts and utilize effective sales techniques to secure substantial deals for our products and services.
  • Organize and conduct capabilities presentations to existing and potential new customers.
  • Perform continuous lead generation, account mapping, and identify decision-making units to sell effectively in a solution-oriented team selling approach.
  • Establishing New Business Relationships: Develop and/or nurture relationships with prospective customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders in leading Pharma, Biotech, Government agencies, Academic Centers. Leverage these connections to expand our customer base and drive sales growth.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, actively tracking leads, opportunities, and customer interactions. Implement effective sales strategies to convert prospects into long-term, high-value customers.
  • Market Analysis and Insights: constantly monitor and assess market dynamics, competitor’s activity, business risks, opportunities and trend assessments to capitalize on emerging opportunities and stay ahead of market shifts.
  • Report these findings to the organization and address them through tailored strategic and tactical sales plans.
  • Portfolio Expansion and Enhancement: Manage and enhance our existing portfolio by identifying areas for improvement, innovation, and customization.
  • Continuously assess market needs to ensure our offerings remain competitive and appealing to potential customers.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to align strategies and ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate within a dynamic team environment to deliver customer-centric value that drives revenue growth.
  • Foster cross-functional partnerships with Regional Sales, Technical Support, and Product Management teams, ensuring seamless resource collaboration to effectively address customer needs.

What You`ll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master`s Degree in a Life Sciences field.
  • Profound experience in

Genomics or Synthetic Biology

in a commercial role with a proven track record of success in sales or business development toles, exceeding targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Proven track record in scientific consulting on topics related to

Sequencing, Synthetic Biology, cell and gene therapies

, and molecular biology lab techniques.
  • Exhibits strong business acumen, decisive judgment, analytical prowess, and exceptional organizational abilities within a fast-paced setting. Adopts a consultative approach to effectively manage and nurture customer relationships.
  • Showcases exceptional negotiation skills, both in written and oral communication, coupled with outstanding presentation abilities. Proven track record of collaborating seamlessly with key stakeholders across internal and external organizations.
  • Proficient in maintaining and organizing opportunity pipelines, tasks, and events using CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar platforms. Proficiency in computer skills, including a strong command of commonly used Microsoft Office applications, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of technology in daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Fluent in English and German, another language is a benefit.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions/ Schedule

  • Requires the ability and willingness to travel extensively within the DACH & Southern Europe regions for customer meetings, internal business gatherings, seminars, and conferences.

This role necessitates flexibility for stays, accounting for up to 50% of the time.

Additionally, occasional travel to North America may be expected.
