Job Description The research group of Tanja Nicole Hartmann, PhD, Department of Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation at the University Medical Center Freiburg, is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher Starting date:as soon as possible Our translational research focuses on the communication of leukemia and lymphoma cells with the tumor microenvironment, with a particular interest in adhesion molecules as therapeutic targets and predictive biomarkers. The current project is performed in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Prof. Dr. Veronique Orian-Rousseau), aiming to characterize the myeloid and endothelial tumor microenvironment in chronic lymphocytic leukemia with regards to CD44. The position is full-time and limited to a period of three years. the University Medical Center Freiburg is one of the largest and most renowned hospitals and medical research centers in Germany;
our lab is part of the Department of Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation and located at the Center for Translational Cell Research, providing an excellent infrastructure with state-of-the-art instrumentation to perform this study Freiburg is located in close vicinity to France and Switzerland, and right next to the Black Forest, offering a friendly and international atmosphere and excellent recreational possibilities for cultural and outdoor activities Master (or equivalent) and PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine or related discipline experience in mouse handling experience in cell biology and microscopy strong interest in science and translational research, including use of preclinical in vivo models very well organized and goal-driven highly motivated and team-minded excellent communication skills
