Research Assistant (m/f/x)
in the research area „DC-Systems“
- Salary Group 13 TV-L –
to TV-L 13.
What can you expect?
You have the possibility to participate in our research to enable the transition of aviation towards
a complete electrified future. Your field of research at our institute includes the system design
of on-board power supply systems and their protection concepts for electrified aircraft. Beside
the supervising professor, you will have the support for discussing your research questions of
the experienced co-workers; especially in your corresponding team “DC Systems and Circuit
Breakers”. In your project, you are a member of a research consortium within in a BMWK-funded
project with leading industry partner for aviation.
Your responsibilities include the implementation of practical, interdisciplinary research projects
and collaboration in teaching. The advertised position includes a PhD opportunity.
What requirements should you bring with you?
− A university degree in electrical engineering or comparable scientific and technical studies
is mandatory for employment as a research assistant
− Basic knowledge in design, calculation, analysis and protection of DC on-board power sys-
tems
− Independent working style and willingness to acquire new knowledge
− Safe and responsible handling of electrical laboratory equipment
− Modelling basics as well as the handling of either MATLAB or LabVIEW
− Preferable basics in system design by means of Model Based Systems Engineering
− Motivation for active cooperation with partners in interdisciplinary research projects
− Willingness for communication and knowledge sharing in the team
− Good knowledge English (min. C1), written and spoken. Willingness to learn German

Depending on the assignment of tasks and fulfilment of personal requirements, the salary will
be up to EG 13 TV-L.
The position is basically suitable for part-time work, but should be filled 100 percent of the time.
